Beginning Level
Instructional content:
- Phonemic awareness
- Short vowels
- Single consonants
- Sight words
Goals for students:
- Understand and use short vowels
- Know 73 sight words
- Read and spell new words
Extension Level
Instructional content:
- Consonant blends and inflections
- Final e and r-controlled vowels and vowel digraphs
- High-frequency sight words
Goals for students:
- Read single-syllable words with complex vowels
- Read more than 150 high-frequency irregular words
Challenge Level
Instructional content:
- Six syllable types
- Morphemic roots
- Prefixes and suffixes
- High-frequency academic vocabulary at three developmental levels
- Sight syllables and their meanings
Goals for students:
- Read polysyllabic words with accuracy and increasing fluency

Instructional content:
