After-school programs provide a great environment for inquiry-based science, allowing children to explore and investigate freely and creatively. Science is a way of thinking and finding out about the world, not just a collection of facts. By engaging in AfterSchool KidzScience™ activities, children discover important science concepts that will support them in school and in life. We hope children leave AfterSchool KidzScience™ sessions thinking, “Science is cool and I can do it!”
Each AfterSchool KidzScience™ kit focuses on helping children understand one or two science concepts. Leaders use hands-on activities to give children experience with important science concepts. These investigations also give children opportunities to learn about what scientists do and to use science inquiry skills themselves.
