The Making Meaning® program provides ways to monitor students’ reading comprehension and social development over time.

In kindergarten and grade 1, teachers use informal assessment tools to evaluate the needs of the whole class. In grades 2–8, teachers use the following assessment tools.

The Teacher’s Manual suggests when to perform assessments and the Assessment Record Book (grades 1–8) provides forms on which to record results.
