Vocabulary Week at a Glance
The Making Meaning Vocabulary program provides 26–28 lessons in each grade. The lessons can be taught in either a 5-day week or a 3-day week in grades K–2 and in a 5-day week in grades 3–6. Each lesson is designed to take between 15–20 minutes. The Vocabulary lesson is taught the week AFTER the corresponding Making Meaning week. Waiting a week helps to ensure that the students have thoroughly discussed the read-aloud text before revisiting it for the Vocabulary lesson.
