Stories from the Field

Stories from the Field began as a simple request: Bring a short story or blurb from one of our consultants to a weekly interdepartmental meeting; other DSC members wanted to know about the work being done in Professional Development. The 2-hour meetings could also benefit from a warm and fuzzy interlude.

Since then, this project has grown into something that is truly dear to my heart. In a world where it is so easy to work in isolation, Stories from the Field brings the DSC community together and reminds us of our mission. Debates, laughs, and rousing conversations have all been inspired by these stories. Webinars have been coordinated in response to the questions that some of them elicited. More than anything, they allow the people in the classroom, on the road, or behind the desk a chance to share the love we have for our work.

With that in mind, I’ll be turning this former “email blast” into a weekly blog on our website. My hope is that some of you will feel compelled to respond, share your own stories, or ask questions.
